The Center for Urban Horticulture is one of my go-to NE Seattle location. Tucked away in the Laurelhurst neighborhood of Seattle, the Center for Urban Horticulture is real Seattle treasure located on the shores of Lake Washington.

June, July & August are all especially great times of year for a maternity or family portrait session at the Center for Urban Horticulture. So many wonderful wide open spaces for families to run and play together.

Summer in Seattle

I love how the long flowing grass is making its debut as the sun summer warms the ground. The bright yellow buttercups popping up here-and-there in proof that our long wet Seattle fall & winter were worth waiting out. Warmth and sunshine at last!

Golden Hour Photo Session

In the summer months golden hour is my favorite time of day for a maternity photo session or any photo session really. Golden hour happens each day about 1.5 before sunset. This is the time of day when the sun is setting and lower on the horizon. At the Center for Urban Horticulture, I can shoot west into the sun at golden hour for beautiful backlit photos. My favorite!
