What is the BEST location for Spring and Cherry blossom photos in Seattle?

Cherry blossoms are one of the first & prettiest signs of Spring in Seattle.

I marvel at their beauty each year. Blossoming trees line neighborhood streets, parks & schools. The blooms bring excitement for Spring. Answering the questions of where the absolute BEST blossoms are is a tall order – I will give it a go!

The Washington Park Arboretum is my go to Cherry Blossom destination.

Here are a few reason why:

  • Admission is free.
  • Parking is easy.
  • The Washington Park Arboretum is owned and operated by the University of Washington. The grounds are loved and well maintained.
  • The cherry blossoms in the Washington Park Arboretum are not as popular than the Cherry Blossoms on the University of Washington campus. The Quad (Liberal Arts Quadrangle) is home to 30 Japanese cherry trees. The Quad truly is magical and draws HUGE crowds each Spring. The crowds make taking photos (without people in the background) tricky. I have found the size & height of the Cherry Blossoms in the Washington Park Arboretum to be better for photos over the old growth trees on the crowded campus too.

My vote is always the Arboretum over the Quad for Cherry Blossom photo sessions!

Spring in Seattle is Truly Magical!

Cherry Blossoms are the most sought after and asked about Spring flower. The Washington Park Arboretum is home to a variety of flowering trees & flowers. Camellia, Crocus, Daffodil, Hellebore & Star Magnolia to name a few. Spring treasure all-around!
