Eastside Mom and Dad-TOG’s event!
I really enjoy traveling out of my hood to explore new places. It get’s the creative juices flowing, and you never know what inspiration will strike you from working in a new location. For this Mom and Dad-TOG event we journeyed into a forest in Redmond.
The attendance was stellar! So many mom, dads, and photo friends were able to venture to the Eastside. We truly lucked out! The light was amazing! It was strong enough to plunge its way through the dense canopy to create wonderful dotted openings of sunlight. The forest practically glowed in areas! I loved all the textures that were created by the amazing variety of plant life – the soft pillow-like moss, the ferns, the leafy bushes, and the towering Douglas firs and cottonwoods. The kids had such a great time exploring their environment. We even came across wildlife, a snake family!
I loved how all the kiddos were dressed! It was ruffles, tutu, and sundresses galore, as well as some sharped dressed boys and even a little guy in a Batman costume. My little one was so excited to wear her new dress. She’s the one in the pink tutu with the floral print at the top. I had had a client come in recently for a session where her little girl was wearing an adorable peach tutu dress by Popatu. (You can see it HERE. It’s adorable!) I had been on the lookout for one for my girl and was so excited to come across a pink one at Costco! It was under $20, so of course I had to snap it up immediately!
With some many adorable subjects exploring, everywhere I turned there was a picture in the making.
It was a great day in an enchanted forest! It was wonderful going somewhere new. I want to give a shout out to the Dad-TOG who suggested this great location and did all the pre-event scouting. Thanks Day Kol!
