West Seattle Child Photographer
I LOVE West Seattle. So much in fact that I often refer to myself as a West Seattleite at heart. If you have heard the story of my journey to photography. There is no doubt that the title ‘West Seattle Child Photographer’ has a lot to do with it!
During my days of living on Alki and working as a nanny (in my early 20’s), I firmly believed their was not life beyond the West Seattle bridge. Everything I could ever want or need could be found in or near the West Seattle Junction. My go to local businesses were NW Art and frame, Metropolitan Market and of course Spuds on Alki. There was really never any reason to cross the West Seattle bridge. The only occasional exception would be a quick run to the 4th Ave South Costco. And even that trip only required the lower of the two bridges so it still felt like home.
These days getting to beautiful West Seattle is a 20 min car ride. Not too too far! For what it is worth I now really appreciate the view from the top of the bridge.
Lincoln Park – West Seattle
West Seattle has many beautiful parks. Lincoln Park being at the top of that list. Lincoln Park is a 135 acre wooded wonderland located along the shores of Puget Sound. The old-growth forest is a true Seattle treasure. It is home to critical nesting areas for bald eagles, owls and many other beautiful birds. During my research for this blog post I learned that Lincoln Park is actually home to 300 species of birds. Many of which are year long residence. How cool is that!
This was my fifth year of hosting a meetup for the Seattle Mom & Dad Togs at Lincoln Park. Three of those five years are blogged. So after you check out the pictures below have a peek at years past.
Lincoln Park blog post number one.
Lincoln Park blog post number two.
This year we were just in time for the little white daisy’s in the upper wooded/meadow areas. There were acres and acres of them to greet as for our Photography Meetup.
My two kids could not believe their eyes. Flowers they were actually allowed to pick. The eagerly picked them by the dozens and brought them to me. Paying Specail attention to leave the stems long so I could get to work constructing my first ever daisy flower crown. It was not an easy task. But my delicate little crown lasted just long enough for a few photos.
Have a peek at the fun we had below. And if you are a camera loving Mom or Dad join us next year! You can find our group that Seattle Mom & Dad Togs on Facebook.
